Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner. Write about your most unforgettable meal.

Prompt Response: An unforgettable meal I had was when I was at this family gathering with one of my mom's friend's family and it was amazing I believe there were more than 10 people! at the mini house or apartment I believe. When I was a kid it was so amazing with everyone around and the people I met there were cool as well, it was unforgettable because of how amazing the moment was to me and how big or stuffing the meal was that when it was 11 and everyone had to sleep, I was so excited that it took me a few minutes to calm down.  Summary: Today in class we read over Letters 41 - 45, and then took a practice quiz on it with our group which we failed miserably at due to misunderstanding of it.  Reflection: Today I learned about Sofia's circumstances of being a maid and how she is a "captive" in the book to Ms. Miller which is the Mayor's wife. This impacted me by making me feel empathetic for Sofia's situation as we saw a similar situation with Celie howe...

As Celie’s world expands in these letters, she begins noticing new things about the people in her life. Write about a moment when you suddenly noticed something funny, shocking, or unexpected about someone you see every day (a family member, a classmate, or even a teacher). How did that new discovery change the way you saw them?

Prompt Response: A moment when I suddenly noticed something shocking about a classmate or a person I met at school after exchanging numbers and talking for awhile is that they were having an addiction of their own, while different yet so similar and being able to share our problems with one another with our own experiences. This new discovery changed the way I saw them as a more respected person in my life, because despite what they have faced they still try to make a difference for other's despite the way this world is and that is what gives my respect for them.  Summary: Today in class we read over 26-41 and answered 1 question for each of them in terms of analyzing literacy according to the rubric that was given.  Reflection: Today I have learned from Celie that maybe she isn't all that bad and docile as I thought she would be throughout the book and is actually growing. This impacted me by making me feel proud and happy for her as she is starting to find her true sel...

These letters show how Celie learns from the people around her, even in small ways. Think of someone in your life who influences you in a positive, everyday way—a friend, relative, teacher, or teammate. Write about what you’ve learned from them and how their influence shows up in your daily life.

Prompt Response: In my life there is no one that influences my life in a good way in my opinion, as whether they are obstacles or challenges I have to overcome by my own effort. However, while I say this I feel like Fang Yuan from Reverend Insanity (Novel) has influenced me a lot in a good way as we follow him through his journey to obtain immortality and what it means to persevere and his philosophy on things as he is very deep and meticulous about what he does not wasting a single moment.  Summary: Today in class we led more letter's from "The Color Purple" continuing off from letter 21.  Reflection: Today I learned from the Color Purple that sometimes your ideal or celebrity of someone can be not who you imagine in reality. This impacted me by making me feel a bit indifferent as I already knew this fact, however another person I look up to is Coryxkension because he is always so positive and while I know that's just a facade, he brings the joy and smiles of people...

Creating a video is more than just placing pictures together—it’s about capturing a feeling. Explain how you tried to bring your assigned letter to life in your Adobe Express video. What mood were you aiming for, and how did your editing choices help you communicate the message or emotion of the letter?

Prompt Response: I tried to bring my assigned letter to life by trying to make the music tie into the quotes and add images that show it directly. I was aiming for sadness at the beginning of the presentation and middle of the presentation, near the end I was looking for hopeful. Although the photos that I chose turned out to be bad and I should have gone for animation instead, I feel like in the future I have a lot to improve on despite this failure. My editing choices helped me communicate the letter by allowing me to pull on the heart strings by the music but what I realized was that just having one theme of music is much better than having multiple even if it convey's one emotion, it doesn't really make it confusing for the audience.  Summary: Today in class we watched our classmate's presentations and presented ours telling our inspiration behind it at first.  Reflection: Today I have learned from my experience that I should have taken the proper time to make sure m...

At the end of Letter 21, Celie and Sofia share a rare moment of laughter that softens the tension between them. Write about a time when you and a sibling or family member shared an unexpected moment of joy after things had been tense or confusing. Explain how that moment helped bring you closer.

Prompt Response: A time where my family shared an unexpected moment of joy after things had been tense was when we and my mother had gotten into a bad argument and the next day later she goes on about forgiving me and all that as we all laugh and forget yesterday. However I do want to add in my philosophy is absurdism which could factor in to why I simply forgive people easily as well.  Summary: Today in class we just focused on doing our adobe slideshow that we have to present by Monday Reflection: Today I learned while continuing analyzing letter 4 in "The Color Purple" is that we see Celie talk to Nettie about focusing on her education which shows that Nettie is also Celie's form of hope since she also sort of talks about herself. This impacted me by making me question Celie's action and how she writes letter 4 as it seems plain and simple on the surface but as I explained in a last blog post that there was much more to it. In the future I will use this to referen...

Nov 12- Celie tells Harpo to “beat” Sofia because she believes that’s how men control women, but this advice causes pain and conflict. Think about a time when someone gave you advice that sounded right at first but ended up being wrong. How did it affect your situation or relationships? What lesson did you learn about thinking for yourself?

Prompt Response: A time when someone gave me advice that seemed right at first but ended up being wrong was when I was playing a shooter game and my friend told me one advice which I really stuck to and it turns out that just sticking out to one method instead of being applicable to multiple will slow down your growth; so a lesson I learned was that you should be open to new ideas regardless what anyone says on how stupid or good it is.  Summary: Today in class we read a few of the letters from the color purple and started on our adobe assignment that we have to present Monday.  Reflection: Today I learned that despite how simple letter 4 is, it actually has much more meaning to it. This impacted me by surprising me as I had not known about deeper elements on it and only looked at the surface as I read through "The Color Purple". In the future I will use this to try to analyze the books I read better so I can get further insights and comprehension when reading something....

Nov 11- Letters 11–16 show how relationships can be full of misunderstanding and pressure. Harpo wants love, but he also wants power. Sofia wants freedom, not control. Reflect on a time when someone’s desire for control hurt a friendship or relationship. What advice would you give to Harpo or Sofia if you could?

Prompt Response: A time when someone's desire or desire for control hurt a relationship was when me and my mom couldn't decide on a proper time on how much technology I could have, now you see this was back in my 9th grade year when I was all rebellious and all so on I could never negotiate or agree with my mother. Advice I would give Harpo or Sofia, particularly Harpo is to not listen to his parents and listen to his own ideals on what is right and wrong and know that love doesn't have to be obtained as it is already there in his wife and his heart.  Summary: Today in class we continued reading through the letters 11-16 and discussed about it Reflection: Today I learned about how rough relationships can be and how internal conflicts can often stir more problems. This impacted me by reflecting on Harpo's and Sofia's relationship making me feel a bit guilty over the times that I had not controlled my emotions while I was growing up, the only thing I could do was wat...

In letters 6 -10, we see how Celie starts noticing the strength of people around her, like Shug Avery’s independence and confidence. Think about someone in your life who inspires you to be stronger or more confident. What qualities do they have that you admire and try to learn from?

Prompt Response: Someone that inspires me to become someone stronger or confident is military guys because they have this constant regime and still be able to live their lives against the adversity that they face. It influences me by making me feel like I'm not doing enough sometimes and laying around and with so many talented and gifted people around me in their own regards. It makes me feel small like Celie sometimes but the bitter truth or reality to it is your situation could always be better and worse than some to most people circumstances as life is unfair but how we live it isn't.  Summary: Today in class we read letters 6-10 from "The Color Purple", as well as starting on answering the homework questions with the rest of our class time.  Reflection: Today I learned that Celie's dad Fonso is not as bad as it potray's at the beginning, although I say that it does not justify his wrong's don't get me wrong but it makes me see him in a new light t...

After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles.

Date: 11/5/25 Prompt Response: My thoughts and emotions as I experienced Celie's early voice and struggles was at first for the first two chapters felt like a heavy slap to the face and punch to the gut making me feel a bit nauseous over reading it because when I read I tend to imagine the scenario in my head and this felt like it gone beyond what we consider as "normal" today. I guess to me it just felt sickening but I was expecting it kind of like a little when we had an introduction of what the story was going to be like. however through the last 3 chapters it kind of felt like mild as we had to understand the deeper message of what Celie's trying to say through her letters which obviously was much better than the rape imagery. However then again I guess this makes me confront myself over my own actions when you're younger and hormones are acting all over the place making you remember your past I guess in a way that you might not like.  Summary: Today in class...
