Nov 11- Letters 11–16 show how relationships can be full of misunderstanding and pressure. Harpo wants love, but he also wants power. Sofia wants freedom, not control. Reflect on a time when someone’s desire for control hurt a friendship or relationship. What advice would you give to Harpo or Sofia if you could?

 Prompt Response: A time when someone's desire or desire for control hurt a relationship was when me and my mom couldn't decide on a proper time on how much technology I could have, now you see this was back in my 9th grade year when I was all rebellious and all so on I could never negotiate or agree with my mother. Advice I would give Harpo or Sofia, particularly Harpo is to not listen to his parents and listen to his own ideals on what is right and wrong and know that love doesn't have to be obtained as it is already there in his wife and his heart. 

Summary: Today in class we continued reading through the letters 11-16 and discussed about it

Reflection: Today I learned about how rough relationships can be and how internal conflicts can often stir more problems. This impacted me by reflecting on Harpo's and Sofia's relationship making me feel a bit guilty over the times that I had not controlled my emotions while I was growing up, the only thing I could do was watch and suffered later for my own choices. In the future I will use this as a good example and to sustain a good relationship with my peers and family

 Prompt Response: When someone called me an idiot, as they said "Why is someone like you part of our group, your the most idiotic and unhelpful person I met". It made my self-esteem lower by a whole bunch of points and sooner or later I stopped trying in my classes to what defined that title for me as what I thought was idiotic;what an idiot was and made me interact with others less.  Summary: Today in class we went over a short essay "Incident" by Countee Cullen, and analyzed the poem; As well as discussing what the poem was about and the two themes of it. Before the Civil War, most people saw nothing wrong with children working long hours. Over time, people began to see it as unfair and even cruel. What is something that society once accepted but now sees as wrong, or something we still accept today that might be viewed as wrong in the future? Explain your reasoning.

 Prompt Response: Something we still accept that will most likely be seen as wrong and not done in the future is racism as we start to see as a society it is mixed as sometimes it can often be seen as good and bad. In today's society we believe that racism is something that is "fine" however the effects are often bad because it influences us to believe we can treat a person a certain color a certain way and I believe that in the future maybe a decade or two will be seen as something that is morally wrong and is not done even among young generations as we all join hands together.  Summary: Today in class we read over a short article over how child labor was soon abolished and what led up to that.
