In letters 6 -10, we see how Celie starts noticing the strength of people around her, like Shug Avery’s independence and confidence. Think about someone in your life who inspires you to be stronger or more confident. What qualities do they have that you admire and try to learn from?
Prompt Response: Someone that inspires me to become someone stronger or confident is military guys because they have this constant regime and still be able to live their lives against the adversity that they face. It influences me by making me feel like I'm not doing enough sometimes and laying around and with so many talented and gifted people around me in their own regards. It makes me feel small like Celie sometimes but the bitter truth or reality to it is your situation could always be better and worse than some to most people circumstances as life is unfair but how we live it isn't.
Summary: Today in class we read letters 6-10 from "The Color Purple", as well as starting on answering the homework questions with the rest of our class time.
Reflection: Today I learned that Celie's dad Fonso is not as bad as it potray's at the beginning, although I say that it does not justify his wrong's don't get me wrong but it makes me see him in a new light than before as it shows that Celie's dad isn't simple despite being bad and has his own complexities. This impacted me by making me feel astonished by my new perspective making me question if it weren't for Celie's perspective of things would things be different in the way we view these characters overall. In the future I will use this to get a better understanding of the character's as I progress through the story just in case so I can discuss about it in class.
