Thanksgiving is a time for giving thanks and spending time with family over a nice dinner. Write about your most unforgettable meal.

 Prompt Response: An unforgettable meal I had was when I was at this family gathering with one of my mom's friend's family and it was amazing I believe there were more than 10 people! at the mini house or apartment I believe. When I was a kid it was so amazing with everyone around and the people I met there were cool as well, it was unforgettable because of how amazing the moment was to me and how big or stuffing the meal was that when it was 11 and everyone had to sleep, I was so excited that it took me a few minutes to calm down. 

Summary: Today in class we read over Letters 41 - 45, and then took a practice quiz on it with our group which we failed miserably at due to misunderstanding of it. 

Reflection: Today I learned about Sofia's circumstances of being a maid and how she is a "captive" in the book to Ms. Miller which is the Mayor's wife. This impacted me by making me feel empathetic for Sofia's situation as we saw a similar situation with Celie however it isn't all that bad as Sofia's situation is much better than Celie's when she was facing her own trauma. In the future I will use this when writing about Sofia's character or use it as a reference when asking questions about her from the book.

 Prompt Response: My parents have told me that I was born in Mumbai and in a hospital and when I was being born the umbilical cord was around my neck depriving me of oxygen.  Prompt Response: When someone called me an idiot, as they said "Why is someone like you part of our group, your the most idiotic and unhelpful person I met". It made my self-esteem lower by a whole bunch of points and sooner or later I stopped trying in my classes to what defined that title for me as what I thought was idiotic;what an idiot was and made me interact with others less.  Summary: Today in class we went over a short essay "Incident" by Countee Cullen, and analyzed the poem; As well as discussing what the poem was about and the two themes of it. Before the Civil War, most people saw nothing wrong with children working long hours. Over time, people began to see it as unfair and even cruel. What is something that society once accepted but now sees as wrong, or something we still accept today that might be viewed as wrong in the future? Explain your reasoning.

 Prompt Response: Something we still accept that will most likely be seen as wrong and not done in the future is racism as we start to see as a society it is mixed as sometimes it can often be seen as good and bad. In today's society we believe that racism is something that is "fine" however the effects are often bad because it influences us to believe we can treat a person a certain color a certain way and I believe that in the future maybe a decade or two will be seen as something that is morally wrong and is not done even among young generations as we all join hands together.  Summary: Today in class we read over a short article over how child labor was soon abolished and what led up to that.
