Describe a hike, long walk, or outdoor experience you have had and explain what it was like physically and mentally. If you have never been on a hike, describe a time when you were outside your comfort zone or had to rely on yourself in a challenging situation. Explain what you learned from the experience.

Prompt Response: There was a time where I fell into my own despair and went on walks, usually at least most of the time it would be due to work of having to go to different weddings to arrange it, they were pretty long walks, 3-4 hours at least as my body felt exhausted and even though it was sometimes brutal. It was fun because of the different things I saw and even traveled to the city once to see all sorts of stores that we're there. It was a lively sight, but the one thing that hadn't changed my mind was that I was alone. However mentally speaking I was someone who had a little resolve but still persisted through, I guess someone with a decent mentality so not all that bad. A challenging situation that occurred during my walk is that sometimes I would step to far from my Google maps and thus had to retrace my steps until I finally made it there making it longer just to reach.

Summary: Today in class we discussed different hikes at first which revolve around the book "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed. We also read a funny article about what thru-hikers are as 'animals'.

Reflection: Today I learned that when it comes to bears that you should not try to run and back off slowly and clap in order to not startle them and get attacked. This impacted me by making me feel calm and attentive to such information as I didn't know that Bears had lots of abilities especially climbing since in the cartoons they would show the character climbing a tree from a bear. In the future I will use this information to keep myself safe from bear attacks or bears overall.
