My 7 items that I presented for my Multi-Literature Final

 Prompt Response: The seven objects that I did for my Multi-Literature Final was a pair of jeans (represented a type of freedom and independence of not following social norms), an old shirt I had for about a year (presented her development of being independent and being able to earn her own money out of making clothes), aluminum foil (represented her reflection of herself acting as a mirror), A purple flower (represented Joy, beauty, and spiritual awakening), A paper (represented Celie's letter's that she wrote on, showing her voice and how she felt internally, a bible (represented Celie's religious path or spiritual path to God throughout the book), and my final object, a key! The key represented her finding herself at the end of the book and being content with herself, a happy ending.

What have your parents told you about your birth?

 Prompt Response: My parents have told me that I was born in Mumbai and in a hospital and when I was being born the umbilical cord was around my neck depriving me of oxygen. My mother had the instinct that something was wrong and so on that was how I was then born early for my mom's 48 hours of labor which to this day she goes on about it each time I try and ask for money and then talks about the labor she went through and paying it back. Anyway my name came from her praying to an angel or saint, called St. Anthony. When Celie says, “The God I been praying and writing to is a man. And act just like all the other mens I know,” she expresses disappointment, betrayal, and disillusionment. Discuss a moment in your own life when something you believed in turned out to be different than what you imagined. How did this realization shape your identity or worldview?

 Prompt Response: A moment in my life where I had something I believed in and was different from what I imagined was when I believed in Santa Claus and the tooth fairy, it was until one eventful night of waking up that I found out and connected the dots together that it was really my mom that got me the present! This realization made me shape my identity/worldview by making me more susceptible to things and made me question the truth.  Summary: Today in class we read over letters 66-70 of The Color Purple, and started on a found poem that involves using quotes from what we read and turning it into a poem which has to consist of 10 long lines. Reflection: Today I learned that Celie has started gaining a deeper understanding of herself and the awareness of the people around her as she starts to delve into her own truth of things even if she is wrong she is affirmed into what she believes.  Prompt Response: When someone called me an idiot, as they said "Why is someone like you part of our group, your the most idiotic and unhelpful person I met". It made my self-esteem lower by a whole bunch of points and sooner or later I stopped trying in my classes to what defined that title for me as what I thought was idiotic;what an idiot was and made me interact with others less.  Summary: Today in class we went over a short essay "Incident" by Countee Cullen, and analyzed the poem; As well as discussing what the poem was about and the two themes of it.
