Many holidays center around traditions. Describe one tradition that is important to you or your family and explain why it still matters (or why it no longer does).

Prompt Response: One tradition that is important to my family is to have presents under the tree. Personally to me it doesn't matter to me that much now because I have grown up and learned that Santa wasn't real however there's a faint belief in the spirit of Christmas that I still enjoy with my family that makes up of memorable moments.

Summary: Today in class I watched another few of my classmates present in class about The Color Purple, Letter's 86-90. After that we continued watching The Color Purple movie and comparing it to the novel and debating which one was better.

Reflection: Today I learned from the movie that Sophia and Celie's scene of laughing together in the novel after arguing with each other wasn't there. This impacted me by making me feel a bit down of not seeing it there in the film because I felt that scene was very important to the story and adds deeper resonance with the characters. In the future I will use this information to talk about in my final if I need to.
