What did you do over the break?

Prompt Response: During the Fall Break I applied to 14 jobs and didn't get an interview/cancelled the interview due to realizing the transportation and distance. Although I say that, I feel like I didn't do enough and wasted the precious time I had compared to others enjoying and relaxing over the break, while one might say to have peace within yourself in order to achieve great things, I believe that to truly succeed it to overcome adversity and be willing to take on a whole work load of responsibility and action at once in order to get great results. In the end I had a new goal in mind that developed during the break, and that was to persevere or at least learn how to. In the end I did not want to give up on my dreams or aspirations as I grew older, I wanted to persevere until I achieved my own sense of freedom and being true to myself.

Summary: Today In class we worked over a poem on paper called "A Poison Tree" by William Blake. After reading over the poem, we discussed things about it and answered questions.

Reflection: Today I learned that the poem "A Poison Tree" can often not reflect over the elements of what happened during that time period or the significant events that influenced the writer, but mainly it can be about on how the author feels about certain things and brings it to light. This impacted me by making me rethink and change my perspective on how authors were back in the day by making me think over the past about a book called The Great Gatsby which influenced me significantly after this class it had a greater effect now that I reflected back on what the Great Gatsby was about. In the future I will use this to revise and rethink on how I look at a poem not only from my perspective but also on how the author is trying to get out of you in terms of emotions or to get a better general idea of the poems I will read in the future.
