Tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your favorite word and how often do you use it?

Prompt Response: My favorite words right now is the word 'persevere', a word that I have mentioned in my past blog posts. It's my favorite word because to me I am infatuated with it, being curious about on the limits of what does it mean to 'persevere'; everyone has different reasons for doing so whether for responsibility, praise, or even love. Regardless I don't have a reason unlike everyone else, on my own path I question why I am even "walking" down this road and now I am in a dilemma with my inner self. I use the word quite often in my head saying to myself every morning "I will persevere and soar the skies and climb the highest of mountains".

Summary: Today in class we went over the assignment we did yesterday about the poem "Songs of Innocence- The Chimney Sweepers" by William Blake. After that we created a comic strip over 15 new vocabulary terms.

Reflection: Today I learned about the term vernacular, which means "everyday language". Learning this term impacted me by making me reflect over the times on different culture's "everyday language", and I believe that a person's "everyday language" is often influenced by the people around them or how they we're raised, maybe to the point of what they believe in of what is right and wrong in terms of what to say or how to speak to people. In the future I will use this to further my insights when going into a new topic in my multicultural literature class and think about the "everyday language" about the literature I read and what the author's intentions are.
