It’s Homecoming Week! 🎉 What do you love most about being part of the Lakeside community? How do you show off your school spirit? What is your favorite Homecoming tradition or event?

Prompt Response: The thing I love most about the Lakeside Community is the kindness of the people accepting different races other than themselves as friends as well as the diverse community since you meet all sorts of people with different backstory's to them. I don't show off my school spirit as I'm not really a part of the community but more of an outcast/side character in my opinion. My favorite Homecoming tradition/event is the pep rallies where we celebrate and hype up the big game in the gym/court.

Summary: Today in the short class period a few people presented their Story Map in class, which was really well thought and made.

Reflection: Today I learned that cultural aspects of our identity can also be influenced from the activities we do, such as for girls being forced or go to doing something they don't want to do later. This impacted me by making me feel a bit curious about what moments I had when I was forced to do something I didn't like to do, which was back to when I had to join this summer camp where I met a lot of different individuals. In the future I will use this as a reminder to not do the same thing for my kids and be a better parent so that future generations can adapt and grow shaping a better future to what we couldn't imagine.
