Imagine you are learning about Hispanic/Latino heritage for the very first time. What would you be curious to know about the traditions, foods, music, or celebrations?

Prompt Response: I think that if I was learning about Hispanic/Latino heritage for the first time, something I would be curious about it is the foods, traditions, and celebrations in particular because in my personal opinion Mexican foods are one of the most unique variety of food up there even if I think that Indian food has more of a variety, overall I think I would be curious on how the food taste compared to American and Indian heritage/culture. In terms of traditions and celebrations I think that I would be curious about the holidays they celebrate such as parades or parties they do on certain days, or the religion they served being any different from America or anything  unique they do compared to other heritage's.

Summary: Today in class we took a CommonLit Assessment, and watched a short film about a Mexican mother and son immigrant duo. After watching the short film we answered 5 questions about the short film.

Reflection: Today I learned that Mexican immigrants or any immigrants can face more or less severe financial issues depending on their circumstances and can affect the relationship between family members such as parents with their son/daughter. This impacted me by making me feel a bit empathetic in the context of understanding what it's like facing those circumstances and being able to mend the relationship between son and parent. In the future I will use this to serve as a reminder that even if I am annoyed or angry at my parents I will learn to forgive and negotiate and give my gratitude to them while their still here instead of later when they are gone.
